PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE

January 20, 2021

From the President:

A Happy New year to all members, active personnel and retirees.  2021 brings a new U.S. new president, the COVID vaccine and unfortunately, the cancelation of the PBA Valentine’s Dinner/Dance that was scheduled for next month.  I was really hoping to have the event, but we just have not reached that point.  I did reserve February 12, 2022 for next year.  I look forward to the annual PBA member’s BBQ later this year.

As you may have seen in the Farsider, this year began on a down note, with the loss of Jay Wendling, Fred Esparza and Bill Sims.  They were friends to many, partners to others and PBA family members.  I salute them all on behalf of the PBA for their service to the Department and this City.  Sadly, I add George De La Rocha to the list of the departed, as I just learned of his passing this morning.

Respects to the San Jose PD men and woman lost in 2020:

John Martorano (Jan), Mervin Pierce (Jan), Robert Avila (Mar), George Springer (Mar)

Phyllis Trussler (May), Ron Ledesma (June), Tom Shigemasa (June), Ron Daly (July), George Graham (Sep)

John Kregel* (Oct), Jess Sanchez (Oct), Steve Windisch Sr.*(Nov)

*PBA member

During your careers, many friendships grew while working the streets, the bureau, and during the off-duty times.  After retirement, many members relocated throughout this great country.  The distance and the passage of time has not diminished the connection many had.  That being said, your PBA would be honored to post notifications to the membership of losses as difficult as it me be; family does that.

Wholehearted kudos to all that sent your messages of support to Nancy Becknall.  It was most appreciated and uplifting for her and Chaplain Jim.  Thank you.

Happy Birthday wishes to all the January celebrants!  Mike Fehr, Leroy Pyle and I update the list as we receive current information.  Apologies to the members that were omitted, I appreciate you reaching out and letting me know.

Take care all and be safe,

Ernie Alcantar

 Great dog breeds for seniors

Dogs provide love and comfort to millions of Americans. In fact, more than 43 million households are home to canine companions. But for all the benefits that come with owning a furry friend, dogs are a big responsibility. There’s the expense of food and vet bills, the exercise and play time, and the obedience training—all factors that might keep some senior adults from taking on a commitment that can last a decade or more. That’s why it is a good idea for older adults to consider dog breeds that are compatible with their lifestyles.

CAUTION! POLITICS!
LIBERAL’S NIGHTMARE 🙂

“The first thing we do, let’s kill all the lawyers”.
It is among Shakespeare’s most famous lines.

A lawyer, who had a wife and 12 children, needed to move because his rental agreement was terminated by the owner, who wanted to reoccupy the home.

When he said he had 12 children, no one would rent a home to him because they felt that the children would destroy the place.

He couldn’t say he had no children because he couldn’t lie (as we all know, lawyers cannot, and do not lie).

So he sent his wife for a walk to the cemetery with 11 of their kids. He took the remaining one with him to see rental homes with the real estate agent.

He loved one of the homes and the price was right.

The agent asked:” How many children do you have?”

He answered: “Twelve.”

The agent asked, “Where are the others?”

The lawyer, with his best courtroom sad look, answered, “They’re in the cemetery with their mother.”

MORAL:

It’s not necessary to lie; one has only to choose the right words.

And don’t forget – most politicians are lawyers.

As all Americans know, new U.S. presidents don’t head to the White House
overnight after declaring victory.
Instead, there’s an important transition process.

ORNERY OLD CUSS!

WATCH: Biden’s Awkwardly Stand in the Cold After Being
Locked Out Of White House Because They Fired Trump Usher

His few supporters should be so proud!!!

2pm yesterday marked Biden’s 50th hour in office. How are all of my liberal friends feeling “If I even have any left…because you know they won’t dare to comment now!

Let’s take a look at the Biden/Harris administration —

– A loss of 52,100 jobs in oil.
– Ended energy independence for the United States.
– Canada and Texas are suing Biden.
– Antifa (just an idea right), continue to riot and burn down Portland and Seattle.
– Sent our troops that were in DC to sleep on the floor of a parking garage, in freezing temps, with cars parked there and one bathroom. But the WH made them cookies
– Created a new glass ceiling for girls to hurdle, ruining so many chances for scholarships with his “progressive” transgender programs allowing boys to compete against girls.
– Created a new federal property mask mandate, which he broke countless times already.
– Is now allowing illegal immigrants to be counted for representation in congress.
– A complete halt on student loan forgiveness that he promised.
– A complete halt on the $2000 stimulus program he promised.
– He shot down a Trump admin order to lower the cost of insulin.
– He shot down a Trump admin order to lower the cost of epinephrine.
– Rescinds Trump order banning Chinese Communist involvement in US power grid.
– $1.6 billion in gross wages lost.
And JUST TODAY – 8 Chinese bombers, 4 fighters, and 1 sub-hunter just breached Taiwan’s Air Defense Identification Zone, crossing the Taiwan Strait
Everything they’ve done in THREE DAYS has benefitted other countries and hurt Americans
But . ……
HEY, at least Biden hasn’t tweeted mean words.
(That is what most people are saying they hated most of Trump ~ TWEETS!)
And, we have a woman Vice President (which isn’t valid because gender isn’t really a thing anymore, right?)
UNITY SURE IS SWELL…

Businesses to Biden

Executives from major US corporations are eagerly raising their hands at the front of class hoping to get called on by President Biden. The problem they think they can answer? How to speed up a vaccine rollout that is wayyyy behind schedule.

Why I Quit Farcebook!
I GOT BOOTED FROM FACEBOOK FOR COPYING  A GRAPHIC I FOUND ON FACEBOOK!

THAT, AND OF COURSE, THE FACT THAT ALL SOCIAL MEDIA SHOWED THEIR LIBERAL SIDE WHEN THEY DELETED PRESIDENT TRUMP’S ACCOUNT AND PURGED MOST CONSERVATIVE ACCOUNTS. FACEBOOK, TWITTER, AND THEIR AMAZON KEEPERS ALSO PURGED THE ONLY SITE THAT ALLOWED ALL CONTENT, REGARDLESS OF POLITICS, PARLER.

I LOOK FORWARD TO THE RETURN OF PARLER!

I’m selling my white privilege card. It’s over 75 years old but is in
mint condition. It has never been used. Reason for selling is that it hasn’t done a damn thing for me!  No free college, no free food, no free housing, current political disdain, etc.Prefer cash but would be willing to do an even trade for a race card which seems much more widely accepted!
