RETIRED SERGEANT MARK BENNETT
Born March 5, 1958
Appointed July 1983
Died Dec. 23, 2016
Hi Bill and Leroy
I received a call informing me that retired Sergeant Mark Bennett passed away early this morning. According to Mark’s wife Victoria, Mark was diagnosed with cancer in July of this year and was undergoing treatment for the last several months. He succumbed to the cancer this morning surrounded by his family. I have attached a link to the mortuary obituary which has more information about Mark’s life and the memorial. Any expressions of sympathy sent to the mortuary will be forwarded to Mark’s Daughters. The obituary has Mark’s rank listed as a Lt., but that will be corrected later today.
After retiring from San Jose PD, Mark worked for several years for the Los Altos Police Department and the Town of Los Altos Hills. Mark eventually moved to Michigan with his wife Victoria.
Please let me know if you have any questions.

Burial will take place at the Fremont Township Cemetery with a Eulogy Meal to follow at the church. The family will be present to receive friends at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider contributions to the donor’s favorite charity.
